Job description

District 27 is searching for enthusiastic, child-centered educators to serve as substitute teachers, referred to in District 27 as "Guest Educators," at all three buildings. A qualified guest educator can choose to work at the K-2 (Hickory Point), 3-5 (Shabonee), or 6-8 (Wood Oaks) building or work at any of the three depending on need.

An Illinois Substitute Teaching License is required, while an Illinois Teaching License is preferred. If you do not have a license but do have a bachelor's degree, we will help you obtain your licensure. There are other pathways to substitute licensure in IL if you have some college, but did not finish a degree.

The daily rate of pay for substitute teachers to $150 per day, but goes up to $160 per day after working for 20 school days.
