Role Overview

District 27 is searching for enthusiastic, child‑centered educators to serve as substitute teachers, referred to in District 27 as “Guest Educators,” at all three buildings. A qualified Guest Educator can choose to work at the K‑2 (Hickory Point), 3‑5 (Shabonee), or 6‑8 (Wood Oaks) building or at any of the three depending on need.

Compensation

The daily rate of pay for substitute teachers is $150 per day, increasing to $160 per day after working 20 school days.

Qualifications

• Illinois Substitute Teaching License required.
• Illinois Teaching License preferred.
• If you do not have a license but hold a bachelor’s degree, the district will help you obtain licensure.
• Other pathways to substitute licensure in IL are available for those with some college but who did not finish a degree.
