Job summary

Ember & Oak in Parsons, KS, is seeking a part-time Server to provide exceptional guest service in a busy, chef-driven setting. You will greet guests, take orders, and communicate with the kitchen and bar to ensure accurate delivery.

Candidates should have restaurant or hospitality experience, strong communication, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will maintain clean service areas and uphold food-safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, serving, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately handle multiple orders and responsibilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry food, beverages, and service items.
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Must meet all applicable legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages, if applicable to the position.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their dining experience.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate orders to the kitchen and bar.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and available beverages.
• Answer guest questions and make appropriate recommendations when requested.
• Deliver food and beverages accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor guest needs and provide attentive service at all times.
• Process guest payments accurately and responsibly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service areas.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and restaurant policies.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, hosts/hostesses, bartenders, and other team members.
• Address guest concerns professionally and notify management when additional assistance is needed.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and other restaurant duties as assigned.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing Ember & Oak.
• Other duties as assigned.
