Job summary

Ridgewood Savings Bank in Queens, NY seeks an onsite Security Guard to protect premises, assets, and customer information. You will monitor ATM security, assist customers, and maintain orderly operations throughout shifts.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a NYS Security Guard License is preferred. Candidate should be able to stand long periods and be willing to relocate to other branch offices as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow opening and closing procedures to ensure premises are secure and valuables protected.
• Inspect ATMs to detect skimming devices and report anomalies.
• Observe activity and report suspicious behavior to management.
• Assist customers with forms and direct to the appropriate bank staff; help elderly or disabled customers.
• Keep floors free of trip and slip hazards to prevent injuries.
• Assist management in maintaining order during service issues.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

This position is onsite in our Ridgewood Main Office in Queens.

Estimated starting salary for this position is $712-$867 per week.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Follow established opening and closing procedures ensuring that the premises are safe for arriving employees to enter when opening and all valuables, bank assets and customer information are secured at the end of the day. Ensure alarm system is activated during non-business hours for protection.


• Inspect automated teller machines, (ATM's) to detect the installation of skimming devices.


• Observe all activity and report to management any suspicious persons or activity that may be conducted inside or outside of the bank.


• Maintain good customer relations by assisting them with their needs such as helping fill out various forms and directing them to the proper bank employee. Assist elderly or disabled customers by holding the door open for them.


• Ensure that floors are kept free of trip and slip hazards, preventing customer falls or injury.


• Assist management when needed in maintaining order if there is a person dissatisfied with service.


• Help out when needed by performing other related duties that may be necessary from time to time at Management discretion.

Job Specifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. A demonstrated knowledge of law enforcement is helpful but not necessary.


• Active NYS Security Guard License preferred.


• Incumbent should have the ability to stand for long periods of time.


• Must be willing and able to relocate to other branch offices on short notice.


• Access to a personal vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license preferred, but not required.
