Job summary

Emigrant Bank is seeking a Security Guard to maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment for customers, visitors, and employees in Midtown NYC. Responsibilities include patrolling the premises, reporting suspicious activity, conducting pre-opening and pre-closing security checks, and directing people during emergencies.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and the ability to obtain a New York State Security Guard License.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk (patrol) and observe areas within and close to the area to be protected.
• Prior experience as a Security Guard preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedule (different shifts) as required.

Responsibilities

• Detect, observe and report suspicious persons or activities to management or designee.
• Direct employees and public to the appropriate locations in response to questions or emergencies.
• Patrol premises, observing for potential criminal behavior or disruptive individuals.
• Make pre-opening inspection of bank branch interiors and turn on lights before opening.
• Document accidents or unusual events and report to management.
• Ensure customers’ safety and security in the bank area and vicinity.
• Respond to customer questions and direct them to the appropriate bank employee.
• Follow policy guidelines to achieve objectives of assignments.

Job Summary

Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties

• Detect, observe and report suspicious persons or activities to management or designee. Keeping the area clear of unauthorized visitors. Direct employees and public to the appropriate locations in response to questions or emergencies.
• Patrol premises, being observant for potential criminal behavior or disruptive individuals that might prey upon the bank, its employees or customers.
• Make pre-opening inspection of bank branch’s interior spaces and turn on all lights and power prior to allowing employees access to the branch. In addition, make pre-closing security inspection of the building and is responsible for signaling the alarm company upon opening and closing.
• Document accidents or other unusual events and report same to management or designee.
• Ensure the customers’ safety & security while within and in close vicinity to the branch especially the elderly. In addition, remove any abandoned forms from the public areas that may contain customer and/or bank information.
• Maintain supply of forms on writing desk and ensure proper display of month, day and year posting.
• Respond to customer’s questions and direct them to the appropriate bank employee.
• Receive guidance with respect to general objectives; in the majority of tasks and projects assigned, determine methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments; operate within specific policy guidelines.
