Job summary

Plaid is a fintech company enabling developers to connect financial accounts. The GTM Compliance Analyst will evaluate and onboard customers in a way that supports growth while protecting Plaid from regulatory risk.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, or a related function.
• Experience conducting risk-based reviews and translating regulatory or policy requirements into clear guidance for business teams.
• Strong judgment and analytical skills, with ability to assess incomplete or ambiguous fact patterns, identify material compliance risks, and propose mitigations.

Responsibilities

• Review deals for regulatory, licensing, policy risk with focus on business model, use case, product configuration, geography, and regulated activities.
• Conduct onboarding and enhanced diligence for higher-risk customers or use cases, including licenses, registrations, policies, ownership information, and other docs.
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, Legal, Product, Risk Operations and others to identify requirements, resolve questions, and develop practical risk mitigations or approvals.
• Document compliance decisions, rationale, conditions, and escalations clearly for auditability.
• Track onboarding conditions, approvals, renewals, and post-deal obligations for timely follow-through.
• Support reviews of regulated or higher-risk segments such as gaming and licensing requirements.
• Research and interpret regulatory/licensing requirements and escalate novel issues to subject-matter experts.
• Develop and maintain GTM compliance playbooks, risk-tiering frameworks, decision trees, intake requirements, and escalation paths.
• Identify recurring issues and work with cross-functional teams to improve policies, controls, tooling, and guidance.
• Provide training and office-hours support to GTM teams on when to engage Compliance and data gathering.
• Build reporting on review volume, turnaround times, risk themes, escalations, and outcomes for leadership.
