Job summary

Plaid in New York is seeking a GTM Compliance Analyst to evaluate and onboard customers in a way that supports growth while protecting the company from regulatory risk. You’ll review deals, assess business models and use cases, perform risk-based due diligence, and collaborate with Sales, Legal, Product, and Risk Operations to apply practical mitigations and keep deals moving.

This role helps Plaid scale into new products and regulated use cases by building playbooks, reporting, and scalable

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, or related function.
• Experience conducting risk-based reviews and translating regulatory or policy requirements into clear guidance for business teams.
• Strong judgment and analytical skills to assess incomplete or ambiguous fact patterns and identify material risks.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for GTM stakeholders and auditability.
• Proven ability to collaborate with Sales, Account Management, Legal, Product, Customer Oversight, Operations, and other cross-functional partners.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills to manage multiple reviews, escalations, and deadlines.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review deals for regulatory, licensing, policy risk with focus on business model, use case, product, geography, and activities.
• Onboard higher-risk customers or use cases, gathering licenses, registrations, policies, ownership information, and supporting documentation.
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, Legal, Product, Risk Operations, and others to identify requirements and develop mitigations or approvals.
• Document compliance decisions, rationale, conditions, and escalations clearly.
• Track onboarding conditions, approvals, renewals, and post-deal obligations to ensure timely follow-through.
• Support reviews of regulated or higher-risk segments such as gaming with licensing considerations.
• Research and interpret regulatory licensing requirements; escalate novel issues to subject-matter experts.
• Develop GTM compliance playbooks, risk-tiering, decision trees, intake requirements, and escalation paths.
• Identify recurring issues and partner with teams to improve policies, controls, tooling, and guidance.
• Provide training and office-hours to GTM teams on engagement and data gathering.
• Build reporting and metrics on review volume, turnaround times, risk themes, escalations, and outcomes for leadership.
