Anthropic seeks a Commercial Counsel, GTM to join our legal team. You will draft, review, and negotiate enterprise contracts, partner closely with Sales and Go-to-Market teams to accelerate deals, and help build our commercial templates and playbooks.

This senior in-house role offers exposure to AI safety and research agreements, procurement, and multi-stakeholder collaborations. Based in our San Francisco, Seattle, or New York offices with some hybrid flexibility, it includes visa sponsorship

Qualifications

• Hold a law degree (JD, LLB, or equivalent) and meet the local licensing requirements to work as in‑house counsel where you'll be based.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical legal guidance to non-lawyers on complex commercial law matter.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales transactions including enterprise customer contracts.
• Partner closely with Sales and Go-to-Market teams to support deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance.
• Help build and maintain our commercial legal infrastructure, including contract templates, playbooks, and process improvements.
• Potentially partner with Policy, Safeguards, and Research teams on novel AI governance initiatives.
• Identify and escrow legal risks appropriately while supporting business momentum.
• Stay current on legal developments affecting AI technologies.
