Job Description
General Purpose:

GSSF competitions were designed as and remain an advertising, public relations, sales, and customer support vehicle for GLOCK. The Match Coordinator/Rangemaster has full responsibility to coordinate and conduct GSSF matches across the country; ensure that all safety precautions have been addressed and that all administrative and organizational requirements are in place to facilitate a safe and successful match, while operating under little to no supervision.

Shift(s) Available:
  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
  • Act as Rangemaster or backup RM for GSSF matches.
  • Oversight of all pre-match, on-site and post-match activities to always ensure safety, match quality and success.
  • Document such activities to ensure internal coordination and cooperation within the GSSF program.
  • Analyze and direct range layout of the Host Club facility to optimize a proper match layout that will facilitate a safe and successful competition.
  • Conduct safety/match briefings for all Range Officer personnel and safety/competitor briefings to explain and be clear of what is expected of Range Officers and competitors alike and answer any questions they may have, to optimize a safe and successful competition.
  • Exercise discretion and judgment as to the ability to conduct a safe competition in various range, weather, personnel, political or other significant conditions.
  • Professionally and responsibly represent the company at all times.
  • Ensure existing and new members are properly registered and have paid match fees; as well as all other match administration functions are performed.
  • Provide support to those RMs when needed.
  • Ensure the collection of the final match score sheets and enter and/or assist in entering score sheets into the GSSF computer program.
  • Ensure recovery of GSSF assets used by the host club and their proper return for continued GSSF use.
  • Ensure production and publication of preliminary match results.
  • Correct errors or ensure their correction and ensure republication of corrected preliminary results.
  • Ensure production and publication of final match results.
  • Ensure production and distribution of all match and Range Officer awards and compensation on a timely basis as a primary function.
  • Work within the GSSF database and communicate with members by telephone, fax, and email.
  • Serve as an Armorer or assist at the Armorer table when necessary.
  • Make personal travel plans and reservations per company policy while working within the budgetary rules.
  • Assist in establishing new match locations when and as required.
  • Conduct negotiations with new and existing GSSF Host Clubs.
  • Assist in drafting, assembling, and distributing mass mailings to GSSF members to inform them as to the availability of matches, the course of fire, match rules and guidelines, required equipment needed to participate in the match, etc. When required, assist in production and mailing of member packages, documentation, and other such materials.
  • Track consumable items (Range officer shirts/hats; targets, posters, etc.) and assist in the reorder of such materials as needed to maintain sufficient inventories.
  • Assist in the preparation and production of the GLOCK Report magazine or other publications as required.
  • Communicate with the Host Club for assigned matches to ensure that the Host Club will have the proper facility, equipment, and personnel available at the proper time to ensure a successful match.
  • Assemble; pack and transport GSSF supplied equipment and materials to ensure they are available at the proper time and place for match use.
  • Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
  • 2 -5 years of related match experience and/or training
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment of match safety and range assignments
  • Complete knowledge of Firearm Safety
  • Working knowledge of the GLOCK pistol
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel by automobile and airplane
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Range officer certification
  • Valid Driver’s License

Employee will be exposed to all weather conditions during matches, in handling materials outside and loading/unloading equipment and vehicles.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a wide variation of hot/cold outside weather conditions, Work involves occasional exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme high and low temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
