Job summary

GLOCK, Inc. USA, Smyrna (GA) is seeking an experienced Firearms Instructor to provide safe, effective training for Glock product users and prospective users at the Smyrna location.

The role requires delivering classroom and range instruction, Armorers training, and adherence to safety standards, with extensive travel and ongoing evaluation of participants. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Extensive background as a Firearms Instructor/training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual or multilingual a plus.
  • Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor or NRA/ Military instructor where applicable.
  • POST Certification where applicable and related credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maximum safety of students and enforce firearm safety rules.
  • Instruct Armorers on service and repair of Glock pistols and train instructors.
  • Deliver classroom and range instruction using approved plans and demonstrations.
  • Travel extensively and spend multiple nights away from home weekly.
  • Promote Glock products and provide technical support during training.

General Purpose:

Provide safe and effective training for GLOCK product users and prospective GLOCK users

Shift(s) Available:

  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: other duties may be assigned

  • Provide maximum safety of students; heed all firearm safety rules at all times
  • Maintain proficiency in use and understanding of GLOCK firearms
  • Provide classroom and range instruction using lesson plans, visual aids, demonstrations, and practical application in accordance with the approved training program and/or verbal guidance
  • Provide Armorer and Firearms Instructor Training
  • Instruct Armorers on how to best service and repair GLOCK pistols
  • Show other Firearms Instructors the best techniques available to enable them to properly train GLOCK users under their charge
  • Evaluate performance of class participants
  • Always comply with established Quality and Safety Standards
  • Represent GLOCK Professional, Inc. in a professional manner during training classes and other business functions to promote products and to provide technical support
  • Submit weekly expense reports to the Accounting Department
  • Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Travel extensively by car and/or airplane and spend a minimum of 4 nights per week away from home
  • Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

Extensive background as a Firearms Instructor/training

Manual dexterity to handle small tools and parts

Superior knowledge of the physical workings of a firearm

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual or multilingual a plus

Demonstrate adequate personal skill with all commonly associated firing range exercises and/or drills

Licenses and Certifications:

Eligible for POST Certification where applicable

Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor, Military Firearms Instructor or NRA Law Enforcement Instructor.

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to dynamically run, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, go proneand bend. The employee is required to use fingers and hands to shoot various firearms. The employee is regularly required to lift to 40pounds and with the assistance of another person, weights over 40 lbs. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderately quiet to extremely loud. Personal safety protective equipment is required.The individual must be able to pass a shooting proficiency qualification test with the equipment provided at the time of the interview and annually.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Hearing protection and eye protection are required for all firing range activities.
