Job summary

Control Risks is seeking a dedicated GSOC Analyst for a 6-month engagement in San Jose, CA. The role supports a 24/7/365 security operations center, monitoring CCTV, access controls, and alarms while coordinating responses to incidents.

The incumbent will document all actions, assist in security reports, and track travel security for personnel. Night shifts (10:00 pm–6:00 am) Sunday–Thursday are required, with flexible scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in a GSOC, Security Operations, or similar role in the tech sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in History, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or related areas preferred.
  • Working knowledge of security systems, incident response protocols, and emergency management.
  • Ability to work night shifts and flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the initial contact for global security communications and respond to alerts/incidents.
  • Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems to detect and respond to threats.
  • Assess incidents in real time and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Document incidents with actions and outcomes for future reference.
  • Support execution of security protocols and procedures during operations.
  • Assist in developing security reports and intelligence products.
  • Provide travel security tracking for personnel and assist in crisis management.
  • Participate in regular training to stay updated on security trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security processes.

Job description

This position is NOT a Cyber Security role.

This position is planned for a 6 month engagement.

Control Risks is looking for a dedicated GSOC Analyst to join our renowned security team. The Operator will be essential in safeguarding our client's assets by operating within a dynamic 24/7/365 security operations center. This role involves monitoring and analyzing security systems to ensure the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and operations.

This position will cover 24/7/365 on a 5x8 shift schedule. The position will cover the client's night shift, 10:00 pm-6:00 am, Sunday-Thursday.

  • Act as the initial point of contact for global security communications, managing responses to security alerts and incidents.
  • Monitor various security technologies, including CCTV, access control systems, and alarm systems to detect and respond to potential threats swiftly.
  • Conduct real-time assessments of incidents and coordinate the appropriate response with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document all incidents thoroughly, including actions taken and the outcome, for future reference and analysis.
  • Support the execution of security protocols and procedures as directed by leadership to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist in the development of security reports and intelligence products that inform decision-making processes.
  • Provide comprehensive travel security tracking for personnel and assist in crisis management and response.
  • Engage in regular training to uphold knowledge of security trends, technologies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security processes and upgrade incident response strategies.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a GSOC, Security Operations, or similar role working in the technology sector
  • Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or related areasof study preferred.
  • Working knowledge of security systems, incident response protocols, and emergency management.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound decisions under stress.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to assess complex situations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using security technology and software applications related to monitoring and reporting.
  • Capability to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The base salary range for this position is $75,000-80,000 per year (37,500-40,000 for the 6-month engagement). Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
