Job summary

Aircraft Service International Group at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is seeking a GSE Maintenance Lead to manage all aspects of repair services for ground support equipment and to oversee maintenance scheduling and safety compliance.

You will supervise a team, ensure timely repairs, manage records, and coordinate parts and inspections while upholding corporate governance and safety standards. Strong mechanical experience and a valid US driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years mechanical experience.
  • Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Able to lift/move 70lbs and work in all weather.
  • Flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal.
  • High school diploma or GED; 1 year supervisory aviation experience preferred.
  • Completion of Automotive/Diesel Mechanic degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fully responsible for all aspects of the GSE repair services at the station.
  • Accountable for the financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance, legal and quality aspects of Menzies’ businesses in the station.
  • Schedules all preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Leads and works with the senior team to maintain and enhance safety & security systems, risk assessments, inspections, training, planning and service delivery.
  • Maintains all equipment records and monitors vehicle registration and hour meter program.
  • Coordinates scheduling of equipment to be repaired.
  • Coordinates all QA inspections on fuel equipment.
  • Ensure ground equipment and fueling repair deadlines are met.
  • Operates motorized equipment.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Mentors other employees and provides training to new employees.
  • Orders parts required for maintenance and major repairs.
  • Completes shift reports and signs timecards.
  • Assists in preparation of performance evaluation forms.
  • Prepares disciplinary incident and/or termination reports.
  • Conducts shift briefings to keep staff organized.
  • Follows attendance/tardiness standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Hourly Rate: $31.00/hour
Main accountabilities include:
  • Fully responsible for all aspects of the GSE repair services at the station.
  • Fully accountable for the financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance, legal and quality aspects of Menzies’ businesses in the station
  • Schedules all preventive maintenance inspections
  • Leading and working with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes, and service delivery.
  • Maintains all equipment records and monitors vehicle registration and hour meter program.
  • Coordinate’s scheduling of equipment to be repaired.
  • Coordinates all QA inspections on fuel equipment.
  • Ensure ground equipment and fueling repair deadlines are met.
  • Operate motorized equipment.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees.
  • Some responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy.
  • Orders parts required for preventive maintenance and major repairs.
  • Complete shift reports and sign timecards
  • Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms.
  • Prepare disciplinary incident and/or termination reports.
  • Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed.
  • Comply with the company’s attendance/tardiness standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
  • 3 to 5 years mechanical experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English.
  • Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal
  • To report any significant deficiency in our products, materials, and documents
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices especially those relating to safety and security.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees of the organization
  • Must have high school diploma, GED or one-year experience as a Supervisor in the Aviation Industry
  • Completion of an Automotive/Diesel Mechanic degree program (preferred)
