Job summary

Avflight Flint in Flint, MI is seeking a Ground Service Equipment Mechanic to maintain, inspect, and repair GSE used to support airport operations. This is a full-time position requiring the ability to read diagrams and perform preventative maintenance.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of GSE experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. You must work outdoors in all weather and comply with safety, reporting, and fueling/deicing-related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Ground Service Equipment mechanic.
• Ability to read and work from diagrams.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test.
• Must have valid Driver's license with clean record.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather and airport conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair ground services equipment used to support operations.
• Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance for GSE.
• Independently diagnose and troubleshoot using test equipment and manuals.
• Perform corrective repairs as needed.
• Adhere to company regulations and supervisor instructions.
• Complete forms connected with work assignments.
• Operate forklift and tow equipment.
• Clean up oil spills after maintenance.
• Dispose of used fluids properly.
• Occasionally perform other duties such as fueling/deicing and cargo handling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
