Job summary

PrimeFlight Aviation Services is seeking a GSE Mechanic in Michigan to repair and maintain a wide range of ground service equipment, motorized and non-motorized. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing and testing engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and performing safety-compliant maintenance.

Target wage is $32.00-$40.00 per hour. Candidates must have at least 6 years of verified experience, provide their own tools, and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• 6 years of verified experience required.
• Must provide own tools and toolbox.
• Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Airlines operate 24/7; must be flexible for nights, weekends and holidays.
• FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs credentials as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid and compressed air.
• Log equipment numbers with description of work.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, replace, repair, overhaul or modify engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, hydraulics, bumpers, wheels and tires.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues as per manufacturer guidelines.
• Remove, test, repair or replace components such as carburetors, governors and sensors.
• Operate and test ground equipment for performance.
