Akima Global Logistics seeks a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic at Fort Hood, Texas to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Army GSE and MHE on an equipment turn-in site. You will work to Army standards, document results, and ensure safety and readiness.

Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent), 3–5 years in GSE/MHE maintenance, Army TM familiarity, and ability to bring your own tools and travel in the U.S. This is an on-site, contractor role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in GSE or MHE maintenance (Army or contractor environment preferred).
• Familiarity with Army maintenance standards, TMs, and property accountability requirements.
• PMCS for GSE/MHE.
• Army GCSS-Army.
• Condition code classification and Army supply documentation.

Responsabilités

• Inspect and diagnose GSE/MHE during turn-in processing.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per Army standards.
• Service and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Verify equipment condition codes and annotate deficiencies.
• Repair and maintain generators, heaters, lighting units, power distribution equipment, hydraulic test stands, jacks, and lifting devices.
• Troubleshoot faults using Army-approved diagnostic tools.
• Replace worn components and return equipment to serviceable state.
• Document maintenance results using DA Form 2404/5988-E and Army systems.
