Job summary

Signature Aviation in Chicago, IL, is seeking a GSE Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul ground support equipment. You will service fluids, read manuals, and ensure maximum reliability through thorough maintenance and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include operating hand tools, following procedures, and communicating effectively with team members. A valid driver’s license, tool ownership, and safety commitment are required; ASE certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with at least 1 year relevant experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Own tools; vocational certification and ASE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lift and move up to 75 pounds.
• Read, write, and fluently speak and understand English.
• Read and comprehend instructions, memos.
• Write routine business correspondence.
• Present information clearly to customers, supervisors and employees.
• Follow established procedures and read blueprints.
• Inspect machinery, run diagnostics on hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Maintain logs and report issues.
• Provide maintenance recommendations and preventative measures.
