Job summary

Menzies Aviation at Philadelphia International Airport is seeking a GSE Mechanic to repair and rebuild airport service vehicles, including refueling and support trucks. You will inspect parts, perform engine, hydraulic and electrical repairs, and ensure preventive upkeep to keep aircraft services running smoothly.

The role requires 3–5 years of mechanical experience, high school diploma or GED, and ability to obtain airport badges.

Qualifications

  • Experience in auto maintenance or forklift maintenance
  • 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Airports/Custom badges/seals

  • 2nd Shift (1400-2230 Off Wednesday and Thursday)
  • 3rd Shift (0400-1230 Off Monday and Tuesday)

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. These vehicles include but are not limited to support trucks, stationary carts, tankers, and hydrant trucks. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

The maintenance team ensures our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventive care for equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment ensuring all work is performed safely and is supported by following established procedures and protocols.

What we are looking for:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • We are ideally looking for an individual with auto maintenance or forklift maintenance experience
  • 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English.
  • Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.

Working Conditions

The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, high voltages and high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures. The employee is also frequently exposed to very loud noise levels, fumes or airborne particles and hazardous substances, materials or waste. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. Must have Electrical, Maintenance, and computer knowledge. Under the daily supervision of the Maintenance Manager with assistance as needed from the Station Manager.

Performs periodic maintenance and inspections on filters, pumps, valves, tanks, pressure controls, metering and gauging equipment, company vehicles.Troubleshoot and repair above mentioned equipment as well as pipeline issues, electrical equipment, motors, switch gear, and lighting. Ensures that all work assigned is performed in a timely fashion with quality workmanship. Ensure through definitive methods that product meets or exceeds quality standards set forth; ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, contributing to an efficient operation, while projecting a professional image for MENZIES AVIATION.
