Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a GSE Mechanic at Seattle International Airport to repair and rebuild airport service vehicles, including refueling and support trucks. You will inspect parts and fix gas/diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical/mechanical systems, ensuring safety and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Must have 3–5 years of mechanical experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Airports/Customs badges/seals.

  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles and perform repairs to gas/diesel engines and hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems.
  • Perform regular QC checks on refueling equipment and maintain maintenance records.
  • Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles at Seattle International Airport.
  • Provide preventive care to equipment and timely repairs to ensure aircraft services operate smoothly.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment per health, safety and security policies.

As member of the Menzies Aviation Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic team you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. These vehicles include but are not limited to support trucks, stationary carts, tankers, and hydrant trucks. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

The maintenance team ensures our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventive care for equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment ensuring all work is performed safely and is supported by following established procedures and protocols.

What you will be doing
  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the refueling equipment, maintain records relating to maintenance.
  • Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles.
  • Ensure our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures, assuring a clean and safe working environment

What we are looking for
  • Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English.
  • Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals.
