Job summary

Menzies Aviation is hiring a Mechanic to repair and rebuild airport service vehicles such as refueling trucks and carts. You will inspect engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and perform scheduled maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operations on the ramp.

The role requires 18+ years old, a valid US driver’s license, and the ability to pass badges and weather conditions. You’ll work variable shifts and contribute to overall equipment readiness.

Qualifications

  • All mechanics are required to perform all duties of the other positions as needed
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airport Badges
  • High School Diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair defective parts on vehicles including engines and hydraulic systems
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual quality control checks on refueling equipment and maintain records
  • Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles
  • Provide preventive care to equipment to support aircraft services
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment per health and safety policies
  • Report accidents to Shop Supervisors and Managers
  • Answer repair calls on the ramp and perform daily equipment checks

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient repairing and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. These vehicles include but are not limited to support trucks, stationary carts, tankers, and hydrant trucks. You will be required to inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

The maintenance team ensures our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventive care for equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment ensuring all work is performed safely and is supported by following established procedures and protocols.

What you will be doing
  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the refueling equipment, maintain records relating to maintenance.
  • Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles.
  • Ensure our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures, aassuring a clean and safe working environment
  • Hydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration Schedule
  • Able to program and understand the functions of the Rapid Charger, including the Battery Monitor and Identification Device (BMID)
  • Repair and replace all tires and wheels
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual quality control checks on the equipment
  • Able to perform an accident inspection on involved equipment
  • Report all accidents to Shop Supervisors and Managers
  • Answer all radioed repair calls on the ramp
  • Must be able to safely operate all vehicles and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) -Perform Daily Equipment Checks (DEC’s)
