Job summary

United Ground Express, Inc. is seeking a GSE Maintenance Supervisor to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment and facilities. You will communicate status updates to customers and manage asset records while enforcing UGE policies to maintain a safe, productive environment.

You will lead a team of GSE mechanics, read repair manuals and schematics, and work in restricted spaces with proper PPE. Expect travel up to 35% and a non-traditional schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 2 years’ experience as heavy/medium/light duty mechanic.
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical/hydraulic schematics.
• Must have own set of hand tools common to the trade.
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures.
• Ability to effectively manage a team.
• Possible travel up to 35%.
• Knowledge of Excel or other forms of reporting
• Knowledge of equipment data collection systems

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair GSE and facilities as assigned.
• Represent UGE through regular meetings with Sr Leadership on financial/reliability performance.
• Asset management reporting and data entry across systems.
• Lead, train, mentor, and guide team of GSE Mechanics.
• Read and interpret repair manuals, electrical/hydraulic schematics, and supervisor instructions.
• Work in tight spaces using PPE and fall protection.
• Develop training materials and process manuals.
• Conduct training and orientation for the Station’s programs.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Use a computer for communications, training and administrative tasks.
• Complete safety training as assigned.
