Job summary

Flagship Pioneering in Cambridge, MA seeks a Director, Growth Strategy and Operations who partners with senior leadership to drive value creation across GrowthCos. You will coordinate governance, align platforms, and ensure execution of Value Maximization Plans.

The role blends strategic, financial, operational, and cross-functional work, offering exposure to portfolio companies, capital planning, and leadership collaboration within Flagship's GrowthCo network.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in life sciences preferred, with related or equivalent work experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience at the intersection of life sciences and business.
• Exposure to healthcare or life sciences with interest in deepening operational and strategic experience in the sector.
• Demonstrated ability to understand financial models, interpret complex datasets, and translate quantitative analysis into clear strategic recommendations.
• Trusted, collaborative team player with high emotional intelligence, low ego, and a seasoned sense of curiosity.
• Experience working closely with senior company leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information for senior audiences and present financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes workstreams with competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior Growth leadership to drive strategic and financial value creation across GrowthCos.
• Coordinate governance processes, prepare materials, and ensure timely follow-up at decision forums.
• Embed with GrowthCo leadership to translate high-level strategies into execution plans.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across Flagship and GrowthCo teams to align platform strategies and capital allocation.
• Support portfolio leadership in risk tracking, prioritization, and knowledge sharing.
