Job summary

R.W. Mercer Co. is seeking a Strategy Consultant to support growth, strategic planning, operational improvement, and business transformation initiatives.

You will analyze complex business challenges, develop actionable recommendations, and help implement strategies that improve performance. You will work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, build business cases, manage multiple projects, and monitor KPIs to drive measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, Strategy, Consulting, or related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, business analysis, corporate strategy, operations, or related discipline.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience with market, competitive, operational, or financial analysis.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and business-analysis tools.
• Experience developing executive-level presentations, reports, dashboards, and business cases.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic recommendations by analyzing objectives, challenges, market conditions, and data.
• Conduct business analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Partner with leadership to develop short- and long-term strategic plans.
• Identify growth opportunities across markets, products, and segments.
• Improve operations by assessing processes and suggesting improvements.
• Build structured business cases and financial analyses for initiatives.
• Coordinate strategic projects from planning to implementation.
• Monitor KPIs and report progress and impact to leadership.
• Conduct competitive research and monitor industry developments.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to execute initiatives.
• Prepare executive presentations and concise reports for stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate risks and support change initiatives.
• Measure outcomes and adjust strategies based on data.
