Job summary

The Vanderbilt YMCA is seeking an Early Childhood Director to lead safe, quality programs across DOE Center Base Classrooms, early learning centers, and wrap‑around care. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, develop curriculum, and ensure compliance with YMCA, funders, and NY DOE requirements.

You will drive enrollment growth and program expansion, promote family engagement, and collaborate with community partners while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and developmentally

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s with state certification in Early Childhood Education.
• Current NY State teaching license or certificate for Early Childhood.
• Minimum of two years Lead Teacher experience in a program for children under 6.
• Knowledge of early childhood education and socioemotional growth.
• Ability to manage multiple projects; budget experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the quality of all Early Learning, after-school, and enrichment programs.
• Plan and create new programs meeting community needs and strategic plan.
• Ensure regulatory obligations of DOE and DOH are met.
• Supervise staff, volunteers, and interns; provide training and coaching.
• Develop and manage budget objectives.
• Liaise with community organizations to provide services and referrals.
