Job summary

Literations seeks an entrepreneurial, strategic Director of Development to design and co-lead a multi-channel growth strategy that accelerates revenue and scales our footprint toward a 10-year vision.

The DoD will oversee development, partner with the Executive Director, manage a three-person team, and focus on corporate partnerships, major gifts, events, and grant programs to fuel impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years fundraising leadership experience.
• Executive presence and ability to partner with the Executive Director.
• Experience supervising multiple staff.
• Proven track record of securing six-figure organizational growth and major sponsorships.
• Knowledge across giving channels: individual giving, major gifts, institutional giving, events, corporate partnerships.
• Experience planning/managing multi-year campaigns.
• Technical proficiency with modern CRM ecosystems (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to the Executive Director on sustainability, financial forecasting, and scaling opportunities.
• Cultivate high-profile major donors, institutional donors, corporate executives, and community leaders.
• Design and execute a growth plan to accelerate revenue streams and support the 10-year vision.
• Co-lead development presentations for the Board of Directors with the Executive Director.
• Oversee a development department of three staff and supervise two direct reports.
• Establish standardized development operations, data tracking, donor pipelines, and reporting frameworks.
• Build a robust corporate giving program and elevate the signature events portfolio.
• Lead multi-year fundraising campaigns with feasibility, goal setting, and phased stages.
