Job summary

Thrive Construction in Columbus, OH is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support project managers across preconstruction, active construction, and closeout. You will help manage scopes, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, and reporting, partnering with the construction team to keep details current and moving forward.

This growth role prepares you to advance into a Project Manager position; you will learn budgeting, scheduling, trade partner coordination,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with submittals, RFIs, and change orders preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and time-management abilities.
• Procore and MS Office experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction: review drawings/specs, flag conflicts, assist with budget development.
• Active construction: manage submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and change orders.
• Closeout: organize warranty docs and closeout paperwork.
• Trade Partner Relationships: communicate clearly with partners and resolve conflicts.
• Technology & Administration: maintain project docs and digital storage.
• Growth & Development: learn to advance into a Project Manager role.
