Job summary

Perplexity AI is seeking a Business Operations Manager to build and run the operating system beneath a busy Communications and Marketing team, helping them move fast and stay in lockstep.

You will own tool stacks, dashboards, calendars, workflows, and cross-functional handoffs, ensuring contracts and procurement move smoothly with Legal and Finance, and keeping leadership informed with clear, scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years in marketing operations, business operations, or a similar systems-and-process role in a fast-growing technology company.
• Experience managing agency, contractor, or vendor relationships and partnering with Legal and Finance on contracts and procurement.
• Strong analytical instincts; able to turn messy inputs into numbers leadership can trust.
• A clear, direct communicator capable of briefing executives, running cross-functional meetings, and writing a process doc people actually follow.
• No specific tool stack required; experience with marketing or comms systems in a high-growth environment and ability to pick ours up quickly.
• Demonstrated experience working closely with senior executives as a trusted partner.
• Exceptionally organized and relational; people enjoy working with you and trust you with what’s going on.
• You build things; you’ve stood up tools, automations, or dashboards yourself, including AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize the marketing and comms tool stack from procurement to retirement.
• Build and maintain internal calendars, intake forms, dashboards, trackers, and automations for reliability as teams scale.
• Run the team’s operating rhythm: priorities, calendars, planning cycles, and cross‑functional handoffs from idea to launch.
• Manage agencies, contractors, and vendors from selection and onboarding through scopes, invoices, renewals, and performance.
• Keep contracts moving with Legal and Finance so agreements never become a bottleneck.
• Be the connective tissue across the team: align on who’s doing what and minimize unnecessary meetings.
• Act as a thought partner to leadership: flag problems early, propose solutions, and see them through.
