Job summary

Modern Intelligence is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager in Austin to build and run the go-to-market engine for Sovereign. Lead multi-channel campaigns, with strong emphasis on video and social, while hiring and managing agencies to raise the bar across print, booths, and events.

You’ll translate complex defense tech into customer-ready messaging, produce much of the content yourself initially using AI tools, and scale the function with a small vendor roster as the team grows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in marketing, brand, demand gen, or GTM at a B2B/defense tech company
• Experience briefing and managing external creatives: agencies, freelancers, or production partners for video, design, or events
• Strong written voice: turn technical product language into clear customer-facing copy
• Hands-on with video and social content (edit or produce short-form, post and iterate) and basic campaign ops
• Heavy day-to-day use of AI tools for research, drafting, editing, and production speed
• Portfolio or work samples showing shipped campaigns or assets, not just strategy docs
• Willingness to travel
• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, LPR, or protected individual)

Responsibilities

• Own how Modern Intelligence shows up across all mediums: video, social, print, booths and events
• Run the marketing engine day-to-day and build a vendor roster
• Set the narrative, creative standard, and vendor stack; hire and manage agencies or freelancers
• Turn product story into visible work across demos, explainers, social, and content
• Collaborate with founders and technical leaders as primary story owners
