Job summary

Front Door Defense is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to help integrate Sovereign software across unmanned platforms, from test ranges to battlefield deployments, with a focus on reliability and performance in real-world environments.

You will work on a small, growing team, write C++ (and possibly Rust/C), Python on Linux, and collaborate with field teams, with opportunities to travel and contribute to deployments in challenging settings.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++, Rust, or C; primary codebase is C++20.
• Python proficiency.
• Experience developing on Linux with Git and code reviews.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/SE/Math or equivalent or demonstrated experience.
• Willingness to travel and support field deployments.
• U.S. person due to export-controlled technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of Sovereign software across unmanned platforms from test ranges to battlefield deployments.
• Support field deployments and integrations, including travel to Ukraine.
• Collaborate with a small software team to expand capabilities and customer engagement.
• Work on Automated Target Recognition and Terminal Guidance across platforms.
