Job summary

Modern Intelligence is hiring its first dedicated designer to set the visual direction across digital and physical media for Sovereign, the unmanned systems platform. You will work with the executive and marketing teams to define branding, UI and collateral that explain complex technology to diverse audiences.

You will own the complete creation of brand books, decks, websites and event graphics, ensuring cohesive visuals across campaigns, product pages and operator apps.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a designer with shipped work in digital and print media.
• Portfolio of decks, web/product UI, booths or merch pieces.
• Ability to explain design choices to founders/engineers without jargon.
• Experience collaborating with marketing and founders on campaigns and brand systems.
• Experience building marketing landing/product pages with AI tools.

Responsibilities

Modern Intelligence is hiring its first dedicated designer to set the future brand direction across all digital and physical media.

Working with the executive team and marketing team, you'll produce the following:

• Brand book and guidelines
• Presentation decks
• Video artifacts and assets
• Social and campaign graphics
• The marketing site
• Product pages
• Sovereign's operator app UI
• Trade-show booths and banners
• Digital and physical one-pagers
• Merchandise

This role is on-site in Austin.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience as a designer (brand, visual, product, or hybrid), with shipped work in both digital and physical media.
• A portfolio of shipped work: decks or presentations, web or product UI, and some print, booth, or environmental pieces.
• Ability to design for a technical B2B or defense / dual-use product and explain choices to founders and engineers without design jargon.
• Experience working with marketing and with founders acting as marketing, on campaigns, events, and a brand system.
• Experience building digital pages with AI, such as standalone landing pages, product pages, a marketing site, or similar campaign pages.
• Proficiency in Figma, Canva, and Photoshop, from concept through production files.
• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)). This role may work with export-controlled technology and controlled messaging.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a defense, dual-use, aerospace, autonomy, robotics, or deep-tech company, or an agency whose clients were in those spaces.
• Prior or current title as Brand Designer, Visual Designer, Creative Designer, or a similar hybrid role.
• Experience with marketing-site layout systems, component pages, and light UI polish for an operator or enterprise app.
• Illustrator and InDesign for one-pagers, booth graphics, and merch.
• Relationships with printers, booth fabricators, or production partners you would bring with you.
• Presentation templates and masters in Google Slides and current AI presentation tools.
• Short-form motion for social and campaigns in After Effects or Jitter.
• Experience designing brand books and guidelines.
• Enough front-end literacy to build marketing and landing pages on your own.

$100,000 - $140,000 a year

Compensation Specifics

• Final offer depends on demonstrated capture and proposal experience
• Equity is granted on top of base for every full-time role.
