Job summary

The Atlantic District in Bowie, Maryland is seeking a Lead Agent to run a Farmers insurance agency by leading growth, operations and client service. You will be the heartbeat of our sales operations, building local connections with both individuals and business owners to expand our reach and protect families.

You will mentor a small team of agents, foster a positive office culture, represent the agency at community events, and analyze performance to drive sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Maryland Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses required.
• Three or more years of experience managing insurance portfolios or leading sales initiatives.
• Deep understanding of policy structures and risk management principles.
• Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills for community networking events.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior agents and foster a positive office culture.
• Experience with agency management systems and digital lead-tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead our sales efforts by developing new strategies to reach local individuals and business owners throughout Bowie.
• Mentor a small group of agents, helping them refine their sales techniques and navigate complex policy issues.
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with our existing clients through regular check-ins and thoughtful coverage reviews.
• Represent The Atlantic District at community events, local business mixers, and charity functions to grow our brand visibility.
• Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement creative solutions that drive sustainable growth.
• Collaborate with the management team to set realistic sales targets and celebrate the milestones we reach together.
