WCF Insurance in Sandy, UT seeks a Vice President of Middle Market Underwriting to lead underwriting operations across six states, guiding strategy, profitability, and portfolio performance. You will develop talent, strengthen underwriting discipline, and partner with Sales, Product, IT, and other groups to drive growth and long-term objectives.

This is a full-time, exempt role based at our Sandy headquarters, with relocation assistance possible for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; Master’s degree or CPCU/CIC/CRIS designation strongly preferred.
• Eight+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience including leadership of middle market underwriting operations.
• Three+ years of insurance company leadership experience.
• Proven success managing underwriting profitability, portfolio performance, and multi-state operations.
• Strong knowledge of property and casualty underwriting, rating, regulations, products, market conditions, and finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Middle Market underwriting operations with growth, profitability, retention, and ratio goals.
• Own M iddle Market P&L, underwriting strategy, and operating plan across territories.
• Oversee and develop underwriting teams to achieve initiatives.
• Attract and retain quality business to achieve loss, retention, profit, growth and ratio targets.
• Implement underwriting guidelines, authority levels, policies, procedures, and audits.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, IT, and other departments on strategic priorities.
