Job summary

Honkamp, P.C. is seeking a staff accountant to support clients’ financial needs. You will handle basic accounting tasks, prepare statements, and collaborate with team to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role emphasizes building client relationships, handling tax-related items, and contributing to firm goals while maintaining high standards of service. A strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required.
• Proven discretion, analytical thinking and independent judgement.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes simple transactions with oversight and self-review for accuracy.
• Process monthly accounts and prepare bank reconciliations.
• Handle state sales and use tax, 1099s and 1096s, and W-2 year-end adjustments.
• Prepare client depreciation schedules and annual financial statements as needed.
• Collaborate with team to ensure compliance with accounting principles.
• Develop client relationships and support administrative tasks.
• Assist with special projects and help meet annual billable hour goals.
