Job summary

Remitly is seeking a Software Development Engineer on the Growth team in Seattle, WA. You will build full‑stack features for high‑value transfers, partnering with product, design, data, and partner engineering to earn customer trust across global remittance workflows.

You will work on customer-facing web and mobile experiences (TypeScript/React or React Native) plus backend services in Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, with emphasis on reliability, observability, and scalable systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of professional software development experience, delivering production code on a team.
Experience building customer-facing experiences with TypeScript and React, or native mobile development (iOS/Android, React Native).
Proficiency in one or more modern backend languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, with a record of delivering production-quality code.
Experience contributing to distributed, large-scale systems with a working understanding of service-oriented architecture.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including familiarity with managed services.

Ship reliable, observable, and scalable features across the High Value Send experience — with depth in one area and growing fluency across others.
Contribute to systems that meet availability and latency SLOs for trust-critical flows.
Partner with product, design, data, and partner engineering teams to surface trade-offs early.
Strengthen team culture through code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring SDE 1s and interns.
