Job summary

Sylvan Learning Centers in Southern California seeks an Associate Academic Adviser to build a portfolio of families, conduct enrollment consultations, and guide parents through program choices.

The role combines sales, relationship management, and client advising, with full training on Sylvan programs and enrollment processes. You’ll work across multiple centers, with sessions by Zoom or in person, and a clear path to senior advisory roles.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, sales, admissions, hospitality, retail, or client-facing roles.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Desire to grow into an Academic Adviser or senior business-development role.
• Comfort conducting meetings by Zoom and in person.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to prospective families.
• Conduct enrollment consultations and results conferences with parents/guardians.
• Explain student assessment results and recommend Sylvan programs.
• Follow up with families who inquire or do not enroll immediately.
• Build and manage a growing portfolio of families across centers.
• Conduct ongoing progress and educational-planning conferences with enrolled families.
• Identify opportunities for continued enrollment and referrals.
• Reconnect with former families for new needs.
• Maintain notes and pipeline information in Company systems.
• Collaborate with educational and center operations teams to ensure the right program and experience.
• Meet enrollment, revenue, retention, and portfolio-growth goals.
