Morningstar Credit Ratings, LLC is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to lead a U.S. growth strategy within the Select Equities team. The role focuses on building high-conviction portfolios of 25–50 stocks, with Chicago as the preferred location and openness to qualified candidates in other locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional investment experience, with at least 5 years on the buyside.
• Strong preference for experience as a portfolio manager or in analyzing growth companies.
• Alignment with Morningstar’s philosophy and approach to equity investing.
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in learning new subjects, industries, and companies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent critical-thinking skills focused on company analysis and valuation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as portfolio manager for a growth-focused equity strategy that follows a disciplined approach to company valuation and portfolio risk management.
• Contribute to team research and portfolio management efforts.
• Participate in the peer-review process, providing feedback to portfolio managers on other strategies regarding prospective trades and portfolio positioning.
• Communicate with clients, including quarterly commentaries, webinars, and meetings with financial advisors.
