Job summary

Dollar Tree in Windsor, CT is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with functions, help customers, and ensure merchandise flows smoothly from delivery to floor.

You will lead opening/closing procedures, train store associates, enforce safety policies, and maintain neat fixtures and stockrooms while delivering an engaging shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
