Job summary

Hawkers Asian Street Food is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead the kitchen and develop our restaurant staff in a fast-paced, upscale setting. You will support the Executive Chef, uphold top quality standards, and drive profitability through strong team performance and efficient operations.

Two years of kitchen/culinary management experience are required, with a focus on food safety, recipe adherence, and timely service.

Qualifications

• Two years of kitchen/culinary management experience at a FULL-SERVICE, UPSCALE restaurant concept.
• Experience leading restaurant kitchen teams and maintaining high quality standards.
• Strong focus on food safety, quality, and timely service.

Responsibilities

• Maintains food quality standards for the restaurant.
• Oversee all phases of food procurement, production, and service, including inventory and ordering.
• Fill in for the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary.
• Provide feedback to the kitchen team and conduct daily pre-service meetings.
• Ensure target ticket times are met while maintaining quality.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and enforce sanitation and safety practices.
• Train, coach, and develop team members and leaders to meet standards.
