Job summary

Ocean Community YMCA is seeking a Membership Director to lead membership growth, retention, engagement, and Welcome Center operations at the Naik Family Branch in Mystic, CT. You will guide the Membership team to deliver exceptional member experiences and drive revenue through strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in membership, sales, marketing or related area preferred.
• Demonstrated success in sales and revenue growth.
• Staff supervision and leadership experience required.
• Strong interpersonal, customer-service, presentation and communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with standard business software.
• Ability to develop professional relationships with members, staff, community partners and local leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to increase membership, retention, engagement, and revenue.
• Monitor membership trends, goals, member feedback, and performance measures.
• Oversee daily Welcome Center and Child Watch operations and maintain high member-service standards.
• Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and develop Membership and Child Watch staff.
• Ensure membership transactions, program registrations, financial assistance, and account changes are processed accurately.
• Manage the Membership budget and prepare monthly reports and performance analyses.
• Coordinate membership marketing, communications, events, and community outreach.
• Build relationships with members, community partners, and local leaders.
• Support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, fundraising activities, and special events.
