OpenAI is seeking a seasoned Creative Director to lead its Growth creative team in New York, guiding strategy, concepting, and execution across B2B and B2C initiatives. You will translate business goals and audience insights into distinctive, effective, and culturally relevant work, partnering with marketing, production, and external agencies to maintain high craft and speed.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in creative roles.
Experience leading multidisciplinary work across social, growth and/or integrated marketing.
Portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative judgment and leadership across a variety of channels and formats.

Responsibilities

Lead creative direction across growth initiatives by establishing a high bar for storytelling, design, writing, relevance and quality across all outputs.
Translate business objectives, audience insights, and performance learnings into clear creative direction and breakthrough ideas.
Develop concepts and narratives that can scale globally while remaining relevant to local audiences and cultural contexts.
Partner closely with Growth Marketing to shape briefs, identify opportunities, and define creative approaches that balance experimentation with brand integrity.
Steer external agencies by setting direction, providing feedback, and ensuring work meets OpenAI's standards for craft, effectiveness, and originality.
Help evolve creative processes, frameworks, and systems that enable teams to move faster without compromising quality.
