Cityblock is hiring an Actuarial Associate, Growth to join the Growth Actuary team that handles pricing for value-based care partnerships. You will analyze partner data, develop pricing models, and support underwriting decisions for new markets.

The role requires 2+ years in healthcare data and SQL; Python is a plus. You will collaborate with Growth, Finance, and Valuation teams to translate data into pricing insights. Benefits include health/life insurance and PTO.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Data Analytics/Science; progress toward SOA credentials is a plus.
2+ years of experience with healthcare data and standard metrics (PMPM, gross margin, MLR, risk score).
Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, aggregations, CTEs); Python is a plus.
Experience with Excel/Sheets; Power Pivot or VBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support underwriting and pricing analyses for partner deals, including development of MLR targets.
Write and maintain SQL queries to pull and manipulate partner data.
Build and maintain Excel/Sheets-based underwriting models and exhibits.
Develop understanding of Medicare/Medicaid mechanics and risk-contract structures.
Participate in peer reviews and communicate results clearly to stakeholders.
