Job summary

TurningPoint Healthcare Solutions is seeking an Associate Actuary in the United States to lead actuarial studies, underwriting, and pricing models for value-based care engagements. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, finance, economics or related field.
• ASA in the Society of Actuaries required, FSA preferred.
• Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries.
• Minimum of five (5+) years of healthcare actuarial or similar experience.
• Proven track record in high performance, data-driven environments.
• Extensive knowledge of actuarial principles and healthcare claims data.
• Experience leading diverse teams and cross-functional projects.
• Prior experience in partner/provider analytics or value-based care.
• Ability to present technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Proficiency in SQL, SAS, or Python is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing and underwriting models with governance processes and controls; assist with client proposals and contract negotiations.
• Apply actuarial techniques across claim trend analyses, experience studies, medical economics, profitability analysis, risk adjustment, predictive modeling, and/or reserving.
• Support reconciliation processes for value-based care contracts, including eligibility, revenue, and claims data; provide ad hoc financial reporting.
• Independently initiate and lead development of complex actuarial studies and materials for senior management.
• Design, build, and monitor risk adjustment models using public and proprietary methodologies; translate outputs into pricing and value-based strategy insights.
• Participate in leadership meetings; prepare and present relevant documents and plans.
• Assist senior leadership with financial models and analyses for strategic partnerships.
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiency within assigned areas.
• Develop staff and succession plans; mentor and coach direct reports.
