Job summary

GreenStone Farm Credit Services is seeking a Crop Insurance Specialist to serve West Michigan's fruit and specialty crop growers. This relationship-driven sales role combines agribusiness knowledge with insurance expertise to tailor risk-management solutions for an assigned book of business.

You will meet growers on-farm, market crop insurance products, manage renewals, and expand relationships across your territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. Degree in agribusiness, business or related major preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in agriculture or insurance with an agriculture background required.
• Must acquire and maintain an insurance license for crop insurance sales and meet all State and Federal annual requirements.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory, including farm visits; the position identifies 50% or more travel and notes that overnight travel may occur.

Responsibilities

• Meet with growers on-farm to understand their operation, risk, and coverage needs.
• Build new customer relationships and actively market crop insurance products within your territory.
• Manage renewals and identify opportunities for additional or upgraded coverage based on customer needs.
• Explain insurance options clearly so customers can make informed risk-management decisions.
• Partner with Financial Services Officers and internal teams to identify new business opportunities and provide a strong customer experience.
• Support customers through policy questions, claims, reporting deadlines, and servicing needs.
• Stay current on crop insurance products, regulations, carrier changes, and competitive offerings.
• Represent GreenStone in the agricultural community and build relationships through grower, industry, and community events.
