Job summary

The YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Club Instructor to warmly greet members and guide walking, running, and hiking activities while ensuring safety and encouraging participation.

Responsibilities include creating engaging workouts, maintaining a clean, safe area, building community and supporting members to reach their health goals, with a schedule of Tue and Sat mornings. CPR/First Aid certs required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with ability to read/write at required level.
• 1+ year experience leading group exercise classes and knowledge of fitness principles.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire from a recognized provider.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive member experience by welcoming participants and engaging them in workouts.
• Lead safe walking, running, and hiking routes in local YMCA areas.
• Maintain a clean and safe workout area.
• Build community by learning names and helping members reach health goals.
• Adhere to YMCA guidelines and respond to emergencies with swift actions.
• Lead groups of 3-15 people and communicate effectively with varying fitness levels.
