Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County in Encinitas is seeking an energetic Club Instructor to lead walking, running and hiking activities for members. You will greet participants, ensure engagement, and create safe routes to support overall health and wellness.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 1+ year of experience leading group exercise, and CPR/First Aid certification. Schedule includes Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8am to 10am, with additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year(s) experience leading group exercise classes.
• Fingerprinting/background check per YMCA policy.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive member experience by welcoming participants and ensuring active engagement in workouts.
• Provide a safe workout by creating walking or hiking routes within local areas.
• Maintain a clean and safe workout area.
• Build community by forming positive relationships and helping members reach health and wellness goals.
• Adhere to YMCA class guidelines and safety protocols.
• Lead groups of 3-15 people and communicate effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
