Job summary

Guiding Hands Healthcare in San Diego is seeking licensed or registered mental health clinicians to lead psychoeducational and skills-based groups for clients new to mental health or substance use treatment. You will facilitate beginner-friendly sessions, document thoroughly, and collaborate with a dedicated treatment team.

Ideal candidates bring trauma-informed practice, strong empathy, and the ability to break down clinical concepts for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Registered associate (ACSW, AMFT, APCC) or Licensed Therapist (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC)
• At least 1+ years of MH/SUD experience (internship or practicum included)
• Comfortable facilitating groups of 4–12 clients
• Must pass background, TB, drug screening, and provide liability insurance

Responsibilities

• Facilitate beginner-friendly, structured group sessions on topics like mental health, substance use, emotional regulation, coping skills, and trust-building
• Complete timely documentation and collaborate with the treatment team
• Participate in group and individual supervision
• Provide consistency, stability, and positive reinforcement in group settings
