Job summary

Compass Health Center is hiring a Group Therapist to lead evidence-based group sessions (CBT/DBT) for adolescents and adults, in a mood and anxiety focused program. You will support crisis intervention, care coordination, and family phone coaching while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work or Clinical Counseling, and licensure eligibility (LGSW, LPC, LICSW, LPCC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD or PhD preferred).

Qualifications

• Master’s in Social Work or Counseling required.
• 1+ year post-Master’s clinical experience or relevant internship.
• Hold or be eligible for licensure: LGSW, LPC, LICSW, LPCC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD or PhD (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate group therapy sessions (DBT/CBT) for adolescents and adults.
• Provide crisis intervention and staff support as needed.
• Develop and document treatment plans and weekly updates.
• Assist with family coaching and follow-up calls.

As a Group Therapist, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. This role will work with patients in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our specialty programs and services: School Refusal, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Trauma.

What You'll Do:

• Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups with adolescents and adults
• Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed
• Developing and documenting treatment plans and weekly update
• Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups
• Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls
• Checking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients
• Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings
• Providing individual support to patients, as needed
• Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups
• Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction
• Participating in discharge planning for patients
• Other duties, as assigned

Who You Are:

• Master’s in Social Work/Clinical Counseling or other relevant Master’s/Doctoral programs
• Hold or be eligible for one of the following licensures: LGSW, LPC, LICSW, LPCC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD (preferred)
• 1 + year of post-Master’s clinical experience, or a relevant master’s level internship
• Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Experience with patients in crisis, and a strong passion for working within high acuity environments
