Job summary

Compass Health Center seeks an Adolescent Group Therapist to lead evidence-based group therapies for ages 12–18, primarily in DBT/CBT modalities. You will contribute to crisis interventions and coordinate treatment planning with a multidisciplinary team.

The role offers opportunities to cross-train in adolescent specialties and to support families via phone coaching and follow-ups. A Master’s degree and appropriate licensure eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Master's in Social Work or clinical counseling field required/strongly preferred.
• Active licensure or eligibility for relevant state licensure.
• 1+ year of post-Master’s clinical experience or eligible internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement DBT/CBT skill groups for ages 12–18.
• Provide crisis intervention and staff support as needed.

This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.

As an Adolescent Group Therapist , you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. This role will work with patients aged 12-18 in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our Adolescent specialty programs and services: School Refusal, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use.

What You'll Do:

• Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups, working with ages 12-18 years old
• Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed
• Developing and documenting treatment plans and weekly update
• Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups
• Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up callsChecking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients
• Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings
• Providing individual support to patients, as needed
• Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups
• Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction
• Other duties, as assigned

Who You Are:

• Master’s in Social Work/Clinical Counseling or other relevant Master’s/Doctoral programs
• Hold or be eligible for one of the following licensures: LGSW, LPC, LICSW, LPCC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD (preferred)
• 1 + year of post-Master’s clinical experience, or a relevant master’s level internship
• Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Experience with patients in crisis, and a strong passion for working within high acuity environments
