Job summary

Concord Hospitality Enterprises in Austin, Texas seeks a Sales Manager to drive group business across meetings, events, and banquet spaces while delivering exceptional service.

You will manage pre- and post-event details, forecast revenue with partners, and collaborate with Catering, Operations and Revenue Management to maximize hotel performance and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years group hotel sales experience is required, preferably within a full-service or upscale hotel environment.
  • Demonstrated experience selling group rooms, meetings, conferences, events, and associated food and beverage revenue.
  • Experience working with a hotel offering 20,000+ square feet of meeting and event space is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to prospect, develop, negotiate, and close group business while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of the hotel sales process, including RFPs, contracting, room blocks, site inspections, account management, and revenue optimization.
  • Ability to effectively sell a complex hotel product with multiple meeting spaces, guestroom options, food and beverage outlets, and event experiences.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Catering, Operations, Revenue Management, and other hotel departments to deliver a successful guest experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be results-driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a competitive, high-volume hotel sales environment.

Responsibilities

  • Always provide the highest levels of customer service to internal partners and external clients.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to internal partners and external customers and deliver clear, concise communication across all channels.
  • Demonstrate time management, motivation, and proactive planning with attention to detail.
  • Satisfactorily maintain existing accounts/segments and develop new business for the hotel.
  • Monitor and manage pre-event, event, and post-event details: room blocks, meeting space, concessions, group reports, cut-off dates, contracts, and billing.
  • Attend customer functions as needed and participate in internal meetings, reporting, and planning.
  • Forecast group rooms and F&B revenues with internal partners; understand strategies to maximize space and revenue.
  • Gain knowledge of hotel F&B products, pricing, space, A/V, and related event details.
  • Achieve sales activity and revenue goals through calls, tours, and appointments.
  • Learn Delphi, CI/TY, PMS, and other sales processes to execute the hotel's marketing plan.
  • Collaborate with Catering, Operations, Revenue Management, and other departments to deliver a superior guest experience.
  • Own career development and pursue training opportunities to grow talents and skills.
  • Carry out reasonable requests by Management and adhere to policies and procedures.

Description

As the Sales Manager, you will:

  • Always provide the highest levels of customer service to internal partners and external clients.
  • Respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner to all internal partners and external customers and deliver clear and concise communiqué that is representative of Concord Hospitality via all avenues of communication.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management, self-motivation and proactive planning, and endeavor to be organizationally savvy with a keen focus on detail.
  • Satisfactorily maintain existing assigned accounts/segments and work diligently to develop new business for hotel.
  • Effectively and efficiently monitor and manage all aspects of the pre-event, event, and post-event details: Track, detail, and communicate the particulars of each assigned event and group -- including but not limited to -- room blocks, meeting space, special concessions, group history and other reports, cut-off and other key dates, contract clauses, group resumes, event orders and BEO’s, billing details, and other integral aspects of groups and events.
  • Be willing and able to attend customer functions as needed.
  • Work with internal and external partners to accurately forecast group rooms and F & B revenues, as well as understand the conditions and strategies that will maximize released space and rooms and impact hotel revenues.
  • Gain knowledge of hotel’s food and beverage products, pricing, and presentation, and learn about the hotel’s function space, audio visual, and any other details related to event success.
  • Consistently attain sales activity goals and individual revenue goals including -- but not limited to -- proactive and reactive calls, tours and appointments required for this position, as outlined by Concord, your RVPSM, and your supervisor.
  • Learn and use digital sales systems and conceptual sales processes (i.e. Delphi, CI/TY, PMS, sales call process, etc.) and understand the hotel’s sales strategies (i.e. Marketing Plan, rates, budgeted goals, etc.). Implement these tools and resources to accomplish individual and team goals and efficiently complete job duties.
  • Prepared for and participate in all necessary internal meetings, conference calls, reporting, planning, training, and other communications required for this position.
