Job summary

ChildServe Respite Center in Johnston, IA is seeking a Weekend Group Respite Assistant to provide personal care and supervision for children with special health care needs in a group setting. Weekend shifts are available Friday through Sunday with 5 to 19 hours a weekend possible.

You will engage children in activities, provide care, and gain training and supervision while helping families by giving caregivers a break.

What You’ll Need:

• Must be at least 16 years old to apply.
• Those 18 and over must be willing to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver, if required. This includes passing a motor vehicle record check and car safety check and able to provide a valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Ability to lift up-to 35 lbs. be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
