Job summary

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is seeking a courteous Reservations Agent to handle guest room reservations, changes and cancellations in accordance with established standards. You will provide information on hotel services and local attractions to assist guests.

Requirements include at least six months' experience as a reservationist or front desk agent, fluent English, basic reading/writing and math skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Six months experience as a reservationist or front desk agent.
• Must speak fluent English.
• High school or equivalent preferred.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Book guest reservations for individuals and groups per standards and scripts.
• Upsell rooms and apply travel agency commissions where possible.
• Process cancellations, revisions and info updates in the reservations system.
• Provide information about city and local attractions to guests.
• Stay informed about current rates and promotions; assist in forecasting.
• Respond to guest complaints and coordinate with management for follow-up.
• Support other duties such as running daily reports when needed.
